Business Solution Analyst

Location: Richmond, VA (Only locals)

Duration: 6months contract to Hire (CTH)

Summary :

The Business Solutions Analyst s primary role is to enable business success through the effective and efficient use of technology. While working closely with senior analysts, as well as the development, testing, and business teams, the Business Solutions Analyst will analyze business processes and propose and design automated solutions to ensure success of the new solution.

 

Experience in the following areas:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and documenting user and functional requirements in an IT environment
  • Requirements planning to include requirements elicitation techniques such as stakeholder analysis, acceptance criteria, and effort estimation
  • Analyzing and documenting system requirements with Use Case Modeling, User Stories, Story Mapping, or other compliant techniques
  • Preparing and documenting support for all types of analysis
  • Working with multiple project management methodologies including waterfall and Agile
  • Experience deploying change management best practices and disciplines (e.g.SCRUM, Agile)
  • Enhancing existing position though organizational effectiveness, implementing best practices, and continuous improvement

 

Education:

Bachelor s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major studies in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred experience includes three to five years in business analysis in the information technology arena. Business analyst or project management certifications encouraged but not required(including, but not limited to: PMP, SCRUM, CSPO, CSM, ACP, CCBA).

 

Computer skills:

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Project).
  • Knowledge of SQL or other query languages and tools (or willingness to learn)
  • Experience working with software development/defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar products
  • Ability to learn new tools
