Role: Banner functional SME with HR & Payroll

Location: Remote

Duration: Long Term

Job Description:

a. We are looking for an individual who:

i. Has extensive understanding and experience with all things HR, Payroll and Finance in Ellucian's Banner ERP system.

ii. Learns and adjust quickly to new environments.

iii. Can act as a liaison between the business units, IT and support teams.

iv. Can develop business system documentation and training.

v. Will develop test plans and scenarios for ensuring ERP modifications, upgrades and project requirements.

vi. Stays up to date with subject matter industry changes.

vii. Able to share their knowledge with functional and technical teams.

viii. Able to explain technical concepts easily and understandably.

ix. Can offer viable solutions to problems in a timely manner.

x. Has good written and verbal communication skills (must speak and write English fluently and be understood).

b. This individual should also possess the following skills and knowledge:

i. Database

a. Must be able to understand PL SQL packages, procedures, functions, views, and tables in an Oracle database environment 19c or greater.

b. Must have 5 to 7 years of analytical experience associated with Banner HR/PAYROLL/FINANCE modules.

i. Should understand how EPAF's (Electronic Personnel Action Forms) in the Banner HR Self Service environment work, the table structure underneath the module, and administrative forms associated with approvals.

ii. Should have a good understanding of the Banner Time Entry and Leave Report modules, the table structure underneath them, and how the approval process works with those modules.

iii. Should understand and have experience in how Banner HR data interfaces to Finance.

iv. Should understand and have experience in how the PAYROLL and POSNCTL (Position Control) schemas interact with each other.

v. Should understand tables and processes associated with Employment, Benefits, Deductions and Payroll processing.

vi. Should understand the flow of the Finance Claims and Check processes.

c. Training

i. Must be able to complete training in 2-3 weeks This consists of how our environment is set up for HR/Payroll/Finance.

d. General

i. Must have 3 5 years writing project/technical requirements.

ii. Must be able to create process flowcharts.

iii. Must have experience in writing requirements for ADA accessibility standards.

iv. Must have a database development IDE capable of working with Oracle version 19c or greater.

v. Must complete OSU A&M system HIPAA and FERPA training at our Institution before having access to our data.
