Job Summary
Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Lab Engineer / Prototyping Technician to support the design, development, and day-to-day operations of prototype medical device products in our research and development lab. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic prototyping environment, enjoys working with both mechanical and electrical systems, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and well-functioning research lab space. The candidate will play a key role in keeping critical prototype systems operational, supporting experimental testing, and contributing to the design and fabrication of custom fixtures and components. They will also be responsible for consuming technical information and communicating key results and outcomes in technical reports for non-technical audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment at the early stages of product development, exercise independence, and grow technical knowledge and expertise in high voltage and X-ray systems.

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience
Experience in device engineering in a hospital, industry, or academic 1-2 years preferred and Experience in medical engineering 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skill in management of engineering projects and/or personnel.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team of scientist, engineers and medical doctors.
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical and/or system problems of moderate complexity.
- Computer literacy to the level of at least word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, statistics, engineering tools and programming.
- Skill in technical writing.
- Experience using fabrication tools.
