Role: ServiceNow Platform Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (On-site - Only Locals)
Duration: 6 months contract

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a ServiceNow Configuration Specialist with strong hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow modules-particularly GRC/IRM, ITSM, and Network Administration functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, experience with enterprise integrations, and the ability to align platform capabilities with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow modules, especially GRC/IRM and ITSM

  • Support network administration tasks related to ServiceNow deployments, including connectivity, integrations, and platform performance

  • Develop and customize workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client/server-side scripts

  • Perform system configuration and scripting to support new features and business processes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable ServiceNow solutions

  • Troubleshoot technical issues across ServiceNow and related network components; perform root cause analysis

  • Integrate ServiceNow with enterprise systems via APIs (REST/SOAP) and ensure reliable data flow

  • Maintain platform security, including role-based access controls and audit compliance

  • Support system upgrades, patching, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Document technical configurations, processes, and change history according to best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow configuration and development, particularly within GRC/IRM and ITSM modules

  • Knowledge of network administration, including DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and performance monitoring as they relate to SaaS/cloud environments

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations, scripting (JavaScript, Glide), and system architecture

  • Strong understanding of ITIL and Agile methodologies

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Relevant ServiceNow certifications preferred (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist GRC/ITSM)
