Overview

The Assistant Manager coordinates and leads team activities to ensure completion. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and the business section and the Assistant manager receives guidance and oversight from the manager. Leadership Level - Impacts the level of service and the team's ability to meet quality, volume, and timeliness objectives within their area. Network Engineering & Operations: Responsible for network design, planning, installation, and support for distributed computing. Translates business objectives into cohesive network recommendations and solutions. Establishes technical standards, and ensures appropriate interface capabilities with other networks and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and provides technical guidance for 24/7 technical staff
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams within the Service operations organization.
  • Serves as a technical contact for the team in determining the cause and resolution of network problems on a 24 X 7 basis and if necessary determines methods for restoring partial service to customers while a permanent solution is implemented
  • Collaborate to set standards and ensure the delivery of services to clients for a 24 x 7 x 365, Network Operations Center that provides remote level I and level II technical support

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years experience in Network Operations
  • Able to prioritize work and ensure effective and efficient allocation of staff resources
  • Working knowledge of enterprise ticketing systems
  • Working knowledge of enterprise monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.
  • Familiar with SDWAN, Cloud based services.
  • Familiarity with Transport and Data devices, OSI Layer placement
  • Familiarity with project management and execution, including initiatives with technology, processes, cross-functional teams and external partner team members
  • Exposure to resource allocation and management
  • Experience in managing personnel and information technology resources
  • Experience in project leadership and execution, including initiatives with technology, processes, cross-functional teams and external partner team members
  • Effective skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives
  • Effective exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using website analytic tools
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing, fast-paced work environment
  • Experience managing complex full life-cycle IT projects or teams to include cost/resource/time estimation

  • Ability to deliver daily outage reports to VP level management
  • Summarize network outages and present to crisis management teams

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience


Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday; 12hr shift 6:00PM - 6:00AM EST
