Description
Robert Half is working with a local non-profit to help find them an experienced Telecommunications and Network Support Specialist. This role plays a key part in maintaining the stability and performance of our communications infrastructure as we prepare to transition from legacy systems to a modern cloud-based telephony platform. You will support daily telecom operations, troubleshoot outages, drive documentation cleanup, and collaborate with our Network Engineer on foundational network administration tasks. This role requires regular travel between sites using a company-provided vehicle and a balance of strong technical knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to transition from legacy phone systems (e.g., ShoreTel) to modern platforms (Zoom Phone, RingCentral, Microsoft Teams).
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for telecom systems and outages.
- Maintain and clean up documentation for telecom infrastructure, especially during downtime.
- Serve as a key resource for telecom projects, including vendor coordination, implementation planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate with the Network Engineer to assist with basic network administration, including VLAN, DNS, and IP configuration.
- Rotate on-call duties for after-hours support.
- Travel regularly to various company locations using a company vehicle.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in telecommunications or network support.
- Hands-on experience with legacy telephony systems (ShoreTel or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud-based communication platforms (Zoom Phone, Microsoft Teams, RingCentral).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for telecom hardware and software issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support and train end users.
- Experience with project coordination, documentation management, and organizational skills.
- Foundational networking knowledge: VLANs, IP addressing, DNS/DHCP configuration
