Our solutions team is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst (Participations) to join our team in support of our global Media & Entertainment client with a project to retool a Participations (financials) system with new interfaces and integrations. You'll need to have experience with Participations processing and understand the nuance and needs of these complex systems. Our project will be pivotal supporting and enhancing systems that manage payments for domestic and international markets. This person on our team will need to understand both the business and technology side. Our ideal person will possess deep knowledge of revenue recognition, realized revenue, gross and net accounting terminology, participations contracts, business rules, union and guild agreements (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA), reporting, audits and payment structures. You will have Business Systems technical acumen to configure, support, and optimize these systems that includes SQL queries, flat files, cloud storage, API integrations, and interface designs.


You'll be an expert with creating functional design specifications, be able to create test scripts, and drive project to completion across the business and engineering teams with diverse stakeholders. You'll be able to communicate with people at all levels and be able to drive outcomes within this key financial area. This is a technical analyst project and you'll be working closely with financial analysts and engineering resources to ensure successful outcomes.

This position must be worked onsite (3-4 days) in a hybrid schedule in the Greater Los Angeles area (close to Hollywood). Key Responsibilities



  • Translating Participations systems requirements into functional design documentation

  • Writing test scripts to test and validate systems changes around the Participations systems

  • Configure and maintain Participations financial systems to support complex accounting that meets requirements.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and system configurations.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation of residuals contracts across various markets and platforms.

  • Support integrations with third-party providers.

  • Analyze and validate participations data, calculations, and payment outputs.

  • Lead and support end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, execution, testing, and deployment.

  • Develop and maintain SQL scripts and data staging processes for participations reporting and compliance.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing support for participations operations.

  • Stay current with union/guild agreement updates and ensure system compliance.

  • Provide cross-functional support across multiple residuals projects and initiatives.



Required Skills & Qualifications



  • At least 5 years of experience working with Participations financials systems and processing in the Media & Entertainment industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of union and guild agreements (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, etc.).

  • Ability to write functional specifications and document requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and working with SQL relational databases.

  • Experience with cloud storage environment

  • Experience with system configuration, data configurations, and rules-based engines.

  • Experience with residuals payment structures (e.g., royalties, episode-based, backend) is a huge plus

  • Familiarity with third-party payroll and benefits integrations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.


Additional Details


The base range for this contract position is $55.00 - 65.00 /per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
