Job Description

The Platform Engineering Associate Manager provides guidance to their team in the areas of Platform Engineering and Product Application Security Engineering. The incumbent follows processes in selecting methods and techniques to ensure high performance and reliability of the company's cloud and on-premises systems. They manage the activities of those responsible for creating systems that are secure by design by anticipating and reconciling complex security challenges.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

Manages the activities of multiple sections or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and/or professionals.

Guides by function or department practices and well-defined management precedents.

Responsible for supporting the talent strategy through hiring, onboarding, learning & development, performance, succession planning, engagement, recognition, and inclusion, diversity, and equity practices.

Responsible for fostering a work environment that encourages employees to act with integrity and respect.

Responsible for setting employee objectives and expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing meaningful feedback, and mentorship.

Responsible for supporting employee career development.

Translates functional plans into operational processes and guides execution.

Knowledge & Application

Receives objective based assignments and determines resources to meet schedules and goals.

Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect section or multiple disciplines. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.

Executes financials, business planning, organizational priorities and workforce.

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.

Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Develops and manages operational initiatives to deliver tactical results.

Collaboration & Interaction

Interacts frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units.

Effectively communicates and presents results and recommendations across discipline.

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Qualifications

Education
  • Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in the information technology (IT) field. In lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of experience in IT.

Skills and Experience
  • Required

4+ years of experience in IT
  • Preferred
    • Experience in platform engineering
    • Experience managing direct reports
    • Lead and manage teams responsible for enterprise storage systems, server infrastructure, backup and recovery solutions, and operating system platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.).
    • Experience managing costs, budgets, capacity planning, and vendors
    • Strong understanding of virtualization, storage systems, and disaster recovery.
    • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation tools, and monitoring solutions
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to mentor and develop team members
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity, application, and network teams to ensure secure and integrated infrastructure
