Job Details

Job Title: Senior Snowflake Data Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-based data solutions supporting enterprise healthcare operations. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, JSON, and Python (Snowpark), along with a solid foundation in data modeling, governance, and automation within AWS environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, transformations, and models in Snowflake.
  • Implement Streams, Tasks, and Materialized Views for real-time and batch processing.
  • Build and automate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
  • Support real-time data ingestion from Oracle to AWS using DMS and integrate with Kafka/dbt.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance (HIPAA, PHI/PII).

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years in Data Engineering, 3+ years in Snowflake (Streams, Tasks, performance tuning).
  • Expertise in SQL, Python (Snowpark), JSON, and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, DMS, Glue) and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with dbt, Kafka, or data quality frameworks (Great Expectations).
  • Snowflake certification and healthcare data background are highly desirable.
