Electrical Construction Estimator About the Job
We're looking for a seasoned Electrical Estimator to take the lead in preparing accurate, competitive bids for complex construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, understands the intricacies of electrical systems, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll be responsible for analyzing project documents, sourcing competitive pricing, and developing detailed proposals that help drive successful project outcomes. Responsibilities- Analyze electrical plans, specifications, and drawings to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for commercial and industrial projects.
- Request and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.
- Prepare and present comprehensive proposals to internal teams and clients.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, potential risks, and alternative solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to refine project scopes.
- Use estimating software to build and manage project estimates.
- Support contract discussions and evaluate change orders.
- Stay informed on current market rates, material costs, and industry trends.
- Ensure all estimating practices align with safety regulations and project requirements.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methodologies.
- Proficient in Conest, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Familiarity with current labor rates, material pricing, and market conditions.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction.
- Knowledge of design-build projects and value engineering.
- Background working with electrical or general contractors.
- Professional certifications in estimating or electrical construction are a plus.
