Job Details

Position: Hardware Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Exp: 5-10 Yrs

Rate: $30-$35/hr on W2

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in Hardware redesign especially skilled value engineering, reverse engineering/re-engineering.
  • Conduct system evaluations, investigate problems and make appropriate recommendations to modify designs as needed.
  • Identify and recommend product functions improvements for the existing design at different stages to improve technical performance.
  • Expertise in Hardware design PCB tools, Functional Safety, DFMEA, Circuit analysis, Simulation & EMI/EMC.
  • Experience on all stages of Hardware Product Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience in different microcontrollers, processors and FPGA based designs.
  • Digital, Analog, Mixed Signal Design Experience for Oil & Gas products.
  • Familiarity with different communication protocols interfaces.
  • Component selection, design calculations and worst-case analysis
  • Hands on experience on design verification, testing & troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Experience In hardware/product integration, testing, compliance support
  • Experience in High-speed design like Ethernet, DDRx, SPI interfaces
  • Product qualification / Compliances test experiences.
  • Experience in Multi-layer PCB Layout design approach design reviews, SI knowledge.
  • Exposure to design tools - ORCAD, Allegro / Mentor Graphics PADs

Primary Skills

  • Hardware Analog and Mixed signal design
  • Microcontroller based multi-chip board development for oil & gas environment,
  • Familiarity with board-to-board communication protocols like SPI, I2C, CAN
  • Additional experience with FPGA based hardware design
  • Experience with schematic & layout; schematics & PCB tools
  • Hands on experience on design verification, testing & troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • A bachelor s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • The candidate must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve independently
  • The candidate be an expert user in Altium Designer or other similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of Electronic Hardware design
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving aptitude
  • Exceptional communication skills written and verbal
  • Strong Customer Service orientation, to work with Design Engineering Customers
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • General ability to be the focal for designs and provide CAD tool expertise to internal customers
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to continually learn new technologies and processes
