Job Details
Title: Senior Network Architect
Location: The Woodlands TX
Mode: Fulltime Position
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of relevant networking experience.
- 5+ years in network architecture and design, ideally for critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, network management tools, use of packet capture and other troubleshooting tools.
- Deep understanding of routing/switching technologies and network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS) and other networking features NAT, Access-Lists, route re-distribution, IP Multicast, VLANs, spanning tree, spine-leaf architecture.
- Demonstrated leadership in large-scale implementation or migration projects.
- Strong IP addressing and network design skills.
- Ability to document business requirements and develop technical solutions to meet the requirements.
- Experience in financial management of project deliverables.
- Familiarity with DNP protocols and SCADA.
- Advanced technologies such as MPLS, VRF, BGP and mesh networking.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS), Software Defined Networking (SDN), and network automation (e.g., Ansible, Python).
- Experience participating in regulatory audits and cybersecurity assessments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of network infrastructure, including design, deployment, performance turning, proactive maintenance, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Provide strategic input and architectural direction for hybrid environments including on-prem, cloud, and OT networks.
- Develop strategic and tactical plans for network expansion including cloud and software define, advanced routing, switching, load balancer, Mesh Networking and wireless technologies in Data Center environments, corporate environments, Operational Technology environments and Wide Area Networking solutions.
- Provide expert analysis of proposed infrastructure changes regarding need, immediate impact, future capability, required supportive skills, and the respective cost for each, including opportunity cost.
- Create IT network roadmaps and infrastructure investment plans aligned with business needs.
- Capture business requirements, functional requirements, and expected service levels from business.
- Create and maintain implementation plans, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support and resolve issues across corporate and OT.
