You'll be working on a platform that directly affects millions of drivers' livelihoods and riders' experiences every day. Our pricing systems process billions of real-time decisions, balancing marketplace efficiency, driver earnings, and rider satisfaction. You'll have the opportunity to:

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

1. Partner with Marketplace, Data Science, and Product teams to build a unified infrastructure supporting pricing algorithms and marketplace optimization
2. Collaborate with ML Engineering teams to scale model inference and real-time feature serving for pricing decisions
3. Partner with Platform Engineering teams to ensure 99.99% availability for critical pricing systems
4. Drive innovation in distributed systems design, focusing on low-latency, high-throughput pricing infrastructure
5. Mentor junior engineers and grow technical leadership capability across the marketplace organization

\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----

1. 6+ years of backend industry experience with demonstrated exceptional technical leadership
2. Experience with microservices architecture, service mesh, and observability at scale
3. Exceptional coding skills in Go and Java, with experience in high-performance system design
4. Proven track record of extraordinary impact: Has worked on real-time infrastructure serving 100M+ users, or 1M+ QPS.

1. Master Degree
2. Background in real-time pricing, optimization, platformization (e.g., experimentation platforms), or ML infrastructure
3. Open-source contributions
4. Track record of operational excellence: incident management, SLA optimization, and system reliability

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
