Job title: GenTax Application Specialist

Rate : $60/hr on C2C
We are seeking a skilled GenTax Application Specialist to support and enhance our tax processing systems using the GenTax platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the GenTax COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) application, preferably within a government or revenue agency environment. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, business users, and technical teams to implement new modules, support existing functionality, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and customize the GenTax application based on business requirements
Collaborate with tax business analysts and state agency users to understand system needs
Analyze and troubleshoot GenTax system issues, workflows, and integration points
Support new releases, upgrades, and patches of the GenTax platform
Write and maintain configuration documentation, design documents, and functional specs
Develop test plans and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Participate in code reviews, defect triage, and production support
Work with IT teams for data migration, interface development, and reporting
Collaborate with FAST Enterprises or system integrators for issue resolution and enhancements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience working with the GenTax application
Strong understanding of tax administration processes (e.g., income tax, sales tax, property tax, etc.)
Experience with configuration and customization within a GenTax implementation
Familiarity with FAST Enterprises methodologies and practices
Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data extraction and reporting
Understanding of GenTax modules such as Registration, Returns, Billing, Collections, or Refunds
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
