Introduction:
TxDOT (ITD Infrastructure) has a new Staff Aug position and we are seeking candidates for the Systems Analyst II role.
Minimum Yrs of Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using native and third-party tools.
Ensure best practices in security, compliance, and cost optimization across both cloud environments.
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native applications.
Set up and manage virtual networks, VPNs, security groups, IAM roles/policies, load balancers, and storage accounts.
Troubleshoot cloud service issues and performance bottlenecks.
Participate in cloud migration initiatives, hybrid-cloud setups, and disaster recovery planning.
Maintain cloud documentation, operational runbooks, and diagrams.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience Skills/Experience
3+ years Hands-on experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms
Strong understanding of cloud networking, security controls, and identity/access management in both environments
Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab
Proficient in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation
Familiar with monitoring/logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Zenoss, and Splunk
Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS)

Certifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect Associate, or equivalent
Experience Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises integration
Tools Knowledge of cloud cost management tools (e.g., Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer)
Compliance Familiarity with DevSecOps and cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2)
