Avanciers are looking for skilled and experienced Tools and Die/CNC Lathe Operators to join our team on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in metalworking and a commitment to quality and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
Operate and set up various machine tools, including drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
Cut, shape, and grind blocks of carbide and steel to precise dimensions and a smooth finish.
Assemble, disassemble, and repair tools and dies to support continuous production.
Design and create jigs and templates to assist in part fabrication.
Inspect tools and dies for defects, perform necessary repairs, and conduct test runs.
Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement, supporting projects to enhance tooling efficiency and reduce scrap.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures for die repairs and maintain accurate data entry in SAP.
REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker.
Extensive experience with metalworking tools and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, scales, height gauges).
In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting in die operation and die assembly.
Proven ability to make complex calculations using geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
Experience with quality control analysis and a keen attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team.
Must be able to work with little supervision and collaborate with engineers and machinists.
Extensive knowledge of metallurgy and the properties of different metals.
Ability to lift heavy objects and handle carbide tooling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Experience with Progressive Stamping Operations (Carbide Lamination Dies) is a plus.
