This role is ideal for an engineer with aerospace/defense background, strong interest in cybersecurity, and an active (or renewable) clearance. The candidate should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for building secure and resilient systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the core systems security and LibertyWorks teams to determine technology and processes needed to meet customer security and resiliency requirements.
- Learn and apply Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) practices across the entire product lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support).
- Partner with government agencies, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to define and meet system requirements.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and other digital tools to support program expectations.
- Develop, update, and implement best practices, policies, and procedures for systems security and resilience across the business.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 1+ year of experience
- OR Master s degree in STEM with no experience
- OR PhD in STEM with no experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Active security clearance (or previously held clearance that can be renewed)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience, ideally in Aerospace, Defense, or Embedded Systems
- Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-160, DO-326, DoDI 5000.8 or related military/aerospace standards
- Interest or experience in cybersecurity and cyber threats, including secure system design, intrusion detection, digital forensics, system recovery, or risk assessment
- Strong technical and soft skills, including systems thinking, communication, time management, and teamwork
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving program requirements
