About the role:
As a Lead Software Architect, you will manage the design and implementation of Westinghouse applications related to asset management, work management, and business process optimization. The architect will work with Westinghouse Product and Platform Managers to understand solution requirements and develop a global technology strategy and an information technology roadmap using a cloud first approach.
You will report to the Senior Manager - Software Engineering. You will be fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Agile Product Owners, Product Managers and Platform Managers to define application, security and data architecture that meets needs and aligns with WEC and D&I strategy.
Develop system roadmaps applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures and
engineering design principles and advancements.
Evaluate industry best practices and latest technology to be integrated into the digital strategic roadmap to strengthen the ecosystem.
Lead a team of software engineers and architects to develop high-performing digital solutions tailored to multiple personas that meet service level agreement expectations by managing computing power, optimizing storage, and maintaining a high level of security.
Lead a team of software engineers and architects with the design of data schemas, stored procedures and data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and loading of data from several data sources and small to large datasets.
Lead the development of scalable data pipelines and API integrations to support increases in data volume and complexity.
Collaborate with an international development team to communicate the envisioned architecture design and oversee implementation.
Qualifications:
B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
10+ years of experience designing and implementing platform architectures
Professional Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Experience designing and implementing application, security, and data architecture roadmaps.
Experience designing, integrating, and evolving complex infrastructure solutions, including service-oriented architecture and microservices.
Experience in .Net technologies (ASP.NET MVC, C#, WebAPI), GraphQL, JavaScript, React, JavaScript Frameworks (Svelte,Vue, Angular), SQL, NOSQL, Vector databases, and Unit Testing frameworks.
Demonstrated familiarity with Generative AI technologies, including foundational concepts such as large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and model deployment strategies.
Experience with the Azure platform and its services/APIs, familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
Experience working with IT to develop solutions within existing standards; experience collaborating to implement IT changes to promote the vision of the roadmap.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
