Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (2 Positions)
Location: Remote
Clearance Level: Clearable at Public Trust 
Experience Level: Senior (8+ years)
Reports To: Database SME Oracle
Overview:
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will provide enterprise-level support for database design, administration, optimization, and maintenance across Oracle-based environments. This role will ensure database reliability, availability, performance, and security for mission-critical applications. The position supports development, test, and production environments, collaborating closely with developers, system administrators, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end administration of Oracle database environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
 - Manage database performance through tuning, indexing strategies, and proactive monitoring.
 - Perform backup and recovery operations using RMAN and Data Guard, ensuring RTO/RPO compliance.
 - Design and implement database structures, schemas, and objects to support application development.
 - Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, and Clusterware environments for high availability and scalability.
 - Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and automation routines.
 - Conduct database health checks, capacity planning, and security audits.
 - Support integration with other RDBMS technologies such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.
 - Provide production on-call support and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents.
 - Document configurations, processes, and change management activities per organizational standards.
 
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
 - Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.
 - Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, or later versions in enterprise environments.
 - Proven expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
 - Strong understanding of database security, encryption, and auditing practices.
 - Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (OEM, AWR, ADDM).
 - Experience with cross-platform database integration and migration.
 - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting cloud or hybrid deployments (AWS RDS, Azure, OCI).
 - Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or scripting in Python/Shell).
 - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
