Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Architect to join our team and lead the data centralization and accessibility project for our hospitality and tourism client. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a centralized data lake house architecture to consolidate and manage our diverse data sources, enabling efficient reporting, analysis, and the integration of AI-powered insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and architect a Data Lake solution on the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to serve as a centralized, secure, and scalable data repository for our structured and unstructured data.

Guide Data Engineering team to design and develop robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to seamlessly integrate data from various on-premises and cloud-based data sources, including hotel management systems, online booking platforms, rental systems, and other business applications.

Optimize the data structure and schema to facilitate efficient querying and reporting, ensuring data is organized in a way that supports our business intelligence and

analytics needs.

Implement comprehensive data governance and security measures to safeguard sensitive information, including personally identifiable data, and manage fine grained access controls.

Collaborate with the Business Intelligence teams to set up and configure a business intelligence (BI) reporting tool, such as Power BI, to create intuitive dashboards and reports that address our complex, cross-business reporting requirements.

Continuously monitor and fine-tune the data pipeline's performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure high availability and scalability.

Interface and guide client's engineering team in data standards and best practices.

Lead a team of offshore data engineers and BI developers.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex Data Lake architectures.

Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Dataprep.

Extensive experience in designing and implementing efficient ETL processes using tools like Apache Airflow and DBT.

Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling techniques.

Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python and SQL.

Strong distributed computing skills including event streaming technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache Storm, etc.

Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Excellent communication skills
