Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid onsite 2 days per week)
Contract: Long-Term State Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design, migration, and optimization of enterprise cloud solutions supporting large-scale modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for defining cloud architecture strategy, guiding migration from on-premise environments, and ensuring cloud solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience across AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform, strong architectural leadership skills, and hands-on knowledge of cloud-native design patterns, AI/ML platforms, and enterprise integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise cloud architectures aligned with business and technical requirements

  • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models

  • Assess existing on-prem infrastructure and lead cloud migration strategy, execution, and validation

  • Ensure cloud solutions meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements

  • Implement and enforce cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, and governance controls

  • Monitor cloud environments and recommend performance, scalability, and cost-optimization improvements

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into cloud solutions

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on cloud technologies and best practices

  • Evaluate emerging cloud services and identify opportunities for innovation

  • Advise leadership on AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI solutions across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure

  • Develop reference architectures, runbooks, and technical documentation

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years architecting enterprise solutions across on-premise and cloud environments

  • 8+ years architecting solutions in one or more major cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform)

  • 8+ years designing cloud-native application architectures

  • 8+ years working with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service models

  • 8+ years experience delivering AI, ML, or Deep Learning solutions using AWS or Google technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, VPNs, DNS, load balancers, firewalls)

  • Experience with cloud security frameworks, IAM, encryption, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Java, C#, or similar)

  • Experience with APIs, microservices, serverless architectures, and cloud-native development

  • Experience optimizing cloud costs while maintaining performance and reliability

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, Redshift, EC2, EMR, Kinesis, or Data Pipeline

  • Experience with Google Cloud AI tools such as Vertex AI or Agent Builder

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect)

Eligibility Requirements (Mandatory)

  • Must be local to the Austin, TX area and able to work onsite 2 days per week

  • Must be able to work on a W2 basis only (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors)

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer
