Job Details

Leidos, a leading defense, intelligence, and technology company, is seeking a motivated Network Operations intern to join our Digital Modernization Group on the Global Solutions Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at MacDill AFB, FL. As part of our team, you'll contribute to the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

Why Leidos? Join our Operational Engineering team and tackle real-world challenges, contributing directly to the security and reliability of vital communication networks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Gain hands-on experience in software development and network engineering that matters.

We are looking for highly motivated, driven, capable candidates to join our GSM-O team! The following areas are looking for qualified interns:

Network Engineering
Network Operations and Maintenance
Unified Capabilities (voice and video)

What You'll Do:

Perform functional analysis of data and network designs to ensure efficient operation.
Convert customer requirements into precise hardware and software specifications.
Provide customer support of user's questions and issues during all phases of the Network Engineering lifecycle.
Performing trouble analysis of data and network design.
Create documentation and collect metrics for timely government reporting.
Administer servers and applications, ensuring system stability and security.
Customer provisioning and onboarding.
Phase-out of legacy technology and introduction of modern infrastructure and applications.

What You'll Bring:

Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology) from an accredited college/university.
Solid understanding of IT principles, programming fundamentals, and networking concepts (OSI Model, Python, Ansible, Yang, HTML/XML, VBA, SQL, Unix/Linux, Bash, SED/AWK).
Proven ability to perform data analysis, extract meaningful insights, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start (selected candidates will be sponsored for required clearance).
Geographic Requirement: This position is based on-site at MacDill AFB, FL.
Reliable transportation to MacDill AFB is required.

At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2... good. You'll fit right in.

Original Posting:
September 11, 2025

For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
