DevOps Developer
This is a Full-Time (W2) Remote Position supporting The United States Postal Service (USPS). Full benefits, PTO, and paid holidays are inclusive to this position.
Number of Available Positions: 3
Contract Term: 10/1/2025- 9/30/2026 (With Possible Extensions)
Salary Target: $75K- $120K (Salary is flexible based on the relevant professional experience and background related to the position)
Requirements: Prior experience supporting a Federal Government Agency/Project within the past 2 years; 2+ years of professional experience with Agile Methodologies, SDLC, Change Management & Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.), and Application Lifecycles Management (AML); Completed College Degree (Preferred); 3+ years of professional experience with software development including DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab), AUT, CI/CD, APIs, microservices, serverless applications, Cloud Development (Dataflow, PubSub, Redis), Kubernetes, Performance Tuning, High Observability Principle, Multi-threading, and Java
- This is a Developmental Coding Focused Position and Not Infrastructural
Project Description:
Under client guidance and direction, the contractor will provide support, and review and/or participate in the development of various initiatives and other responsibilities.
Required Skills:
- DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)
- Designing and developing event/message based application services using a message queue (e.g.Apache Kafka)
- Using automated unit testing and user interface testing tools, ideally in a test-driven-development approach.
- Use of source code management tools, ideally in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD pipeline) SecDevOps environment
- API centric, microservices, serverless applications, or similar cloud-friendly application designs.
- Cloud Development with Dataflow, PubSub, or Redis
- Microservices design

Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge (2+ years experience) of one of more of the following qualifications:
- Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
- Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
- Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
- Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Participate in the project planning process that determines programming and hardware needs. Assist or lead in preparing programming specifications and in developing coding logic. Prepare charts, diagrams, and other documentation as needed.
- Design, code, test, and debug computer programs, independently or as part of a team, using computer languages identified and available in the Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK).
- Adhere to consistent utilization of development standards, procedures, and processes. Ensure systems compatibility. Follow data security procedures and identify potential data security risks.
- Maintain contact, as designated, with the team leader, customers, contractors, and equipment vendors to monitor progress and coordinate varied project stages.
- Maintain computer programs and systems. Revise and update computer programs, procedures, and systems; including rewrites to the systems documentation and instructions as necessary.
- Performs other job-related tasks as assigned or required to support the duties outlined above.
Education:
Required Experience Level:
Minimum of 3-5 years experience, in technology or software development preferred,
Educational Requirements:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
NOTE: If resource does not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
