Job Details

Job Title: Network Engineer (LAN/Wireless/Traveling)
Location: Raleigh, NC
Duration: 12 Months
Travel requirement: 50% or more

Required Skills:
8 to 12 years relevant experience, degree from an accredited College/University in applicable field, If degree is in a non-applicable field, 4 additional years of related experience is required
Minimum 5 years experience in LAN engineering
Expertise in LAN protocols, technologies, and architecture design
Extensive experience in LAN design, implementation, and management in large facilities
Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
Strong skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex LAN issues
Deep understanding of LAN security standards and methodologies
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
Commitment to staying current with networking technologies, standards, and trends


Specialized Skillset Requirements:
Experience with IP Address Management Systems, including voice VLAN sizing
Experience performing switch acceptance for new field sites
Familiarity with Cisco networks: circuit capacity, switch types, IOS
Ability to use design documents or direct measurements to advise on infrastructure, reliability, and performance
Capable of configuring networking parameters for operating systems and network devices
Skilled in analyzing syslog output, sniffer logs, security logs, and application/system logs
Proficient in installing, configuring, operating, and supporting Cisco and other vendor network equipment
Able to assess the need for additional infrastructure tools


Experience with wireless solutions:
Cisco Meraki
HPE Aruba
Juniper Mist
Fortinet
Deliverables:
Regular progress reports on project status
Must demonstrate ability to perform all described responsibilities


Additional Provisions:
Must pass client-mandated clearance, including Drug screening, Criminal history check, Credit check
If given an interim clearance, employment is contingent upon receiving sensitive clearance
Must have lived in the U.S. for the past 5 years. Cannot have more than 6 months of travel outside the U.S. in the last 5 years (Military Service excluded).
