About the Role:
As a Software Engineer in this contingent role, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of data-driven applications and infrastructure. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex engineering challenges, support large-scale systems, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Job Title: Software Engineer (Contingent Resource)
Location: Charlotte, NC
About the Role:
As a Software Engineer in this contingent role, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of data-driven applications and infrastructure. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex engineering challenges, support large-scale systems, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role requires a strong foundation in data engineering, cloud technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of software engineering solutions for moderately complex systems.
- Analyze and resolve technical challenges by evaluating variable factors and applying sound engineering principles.
- Support and enhance existing applications built on Teradata and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Ab Initio and SSIS, and write advanced SQL queries for data processing and analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and engineering teams to meet project goals and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to DevOps practices, including secure deployment automation and cloud infrastructure management.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent experience through work, consulting, military service, or education.
- 3+ years of experience with Teradata.
- 3+ years of experience with ETL tools (Ab Initio, SSIS).
- 3+ years of experience writing advanced SQL queries.
- 1+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- 1+ years of experience with Google BigQuery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with Spark and Python.
- 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps practices and cloud deployment automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Industry-recognized cloud certification (e.g., Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer).
- Proven ability to escalate and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
