RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Development Engineer - Battery Management Systems in Cupertino, CA.
Summary:
In this role, you will apply your electronics design skills to design, develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for next generation consumer electronic products. Responsibilities include designing electronic circuits, producing detailed design analysis, selecting electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet the performance targets. You will work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design!
Responsibilities:
* Define BMS custom EE components and ICs
* Able to define and drive IC requirements, work with CMs on driving IC design through ERS from concept to mass production
* Define IC bring up milestones, conduct silicon and board level validations
* Conduct design reviews, incorporate team feedback and release the design documents for builds
* Analyze the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the requirements (PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog or equivalent)
* Collaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and as per requirements
* Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues
* Develop schematic, drive layout, and guide component selection to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMU
REQUIREMENTS:
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
* 3+ years of experience in analog integrated circuit design (references, DACs, LDOs, SMPSs)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience in battery management systems and/or power electronics is preferred
* Experience with high volume manufacturing, including yield analysis and resolution of low Cpk issues
* Strong EE fundamentals in electronic circuit design/development with microcontroller-based embedded systems
* Good knowledge of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.)
* Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis desired
* Self-starter with excellent time management skills and curious spirit
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Proven track record working independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
