Senior Manager, ROW Content Program (TEMP)

ABOUT THIS ROLE

ROW content team focuses on acquiring rights for production and distribution of premium audio content across new territories (Rest of the World), where is still not available. In this role you ll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals for audio original, podcast, and book-based audio content with prospective partners, including authors, writers, content creators, literary agents, publishers, and recognized IP brands, at terms that benefit of customers. You ll have responsibility for acquired content, ensure successful post-signing go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon, and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audible s overall growth and success.

As a Senior Manager, ROW Content Program, you will . . .

Manage content acquisition efforts in select international territories, including partner management, deal negotiation and implementation.

o Research and identify potential content partners in multiple territories and languages.

Develop, grow, and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential content partners, including authors, writers, content creators, agents, publishers, and IP brands

Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support Audible s content strategy and initiatives

Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting data, preparing budgets, P&Ls, and drafting proposed deal terms.

Build relationships and represent the ROW content team to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams.

Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary.

Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy.

Draft well-written and data-backed concise documents.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 7-10 years experience and proven success in a book publishing, content, media rights, business development, sales or digital media department/company

Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence

Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills

Strong deal-making, negotiation, and relationship management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner across different levels of an organization

Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment

Ability to work with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in and understanding of both the digital and traditional media spaces.

Significant experience working with external partners.

Previous experience in the audio space, acquiring or selling audio rights.

International experience

Passionate about storytelling, the evolution of audio, theater, music, books, and consuming audio content.

Strong aptitude to use Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and company-wide Project Management tools.
