Worldwide Technology is looking for a Technical Project Manager. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Duration/Type of Job: 6+ Month Contract

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $45 to $65 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Description

Automation at an enterprise scale or focused projects. (Will need to be able to track multiple projects in parallel). Ensures timelines are being met, speaking with developers, understanding challenges, and able to speak to the applications / functionality (Functional Scrum master).

Cross-organizational collaboration to ensure automation is as easy as possible, while ensuring process parity. Managing the long-term lifecycle of the projects. Own the delivery of compute life-cycle automation initiatives from discovery and backlog shaping to release, audit, and adoption. Orchestrate cross-team work (ops, security, app owners) to replace ad-hoc scripts and manual spreadsheets with repeatable workflows, clear SLAs, and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build and run the automation program backlog (Kanban/Scrum), aligning monthly patching, policy/software deployment, and documentation reduction goals.
  2. Define MVPs and phased rollouts (pilot ? expand), manage risk/issue logs, change windows, and comms.
  3. Translate business needs into well-scoped epics/stories with acceptance criteria and test gates (QA/UAT).
  4. Stand up simple operating mechanisms: RACI, runbooks, change calendars, release notes, and definition of done. (Projects documented in OneNote)
  5. Replace heavy email with structured workflows and status dashboards, drive adoption.
  6. Coordinate integrations (e.g., CMDB/ITSM, code repo/CI/CD, secrets, patch tooling).
  7. Track value: time saved, failure rate reduction, cycle-time for patches, audit readiness.

Must-Have Skills

  1. Program & delivery management for infra/platform automation; strong backlog hygiene and facilitation.
  2. Process design (swim lanes/value-stream mapping), change management, and stakeholder alignment.
  3. Familiarity with ITSM (incident/change/problem), CABs, and audit/cyber controls.
  4. Literacy in automation/IaC concepts (pipelines, artifacts, rollout/rollback, canaries), enough to challenge trade-offs.
  5. Metrics orientation (DORA/lead time, change fail rate, MTTR; compliance %; manual-touch reduction).
  6. Ability to work with remote and distributed teams.

Nice-to-Haves

  1. ServiceNow (Change/CMDB/ITAM/Flow Designer), JIRA/Azure Boards, OneNote.
  2. CFEngine (configuration management system) experience
  3. Exposure to patch orchestration (SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Red Hat Satellite/Leapp, Landscape) and compliance frameworks (CIS/STIG).
  4. Vendor and SOW management.
  5. Oracle and MySQL DB experience

Example 90-Day Success Criteria

  1. Backlog and roadmap approved; pilots for patching flow and spreadsheet-to-system launched.
  2. Replace at least one email-driven update chain with a workflow + dashboard.
  3. Baseline metrics published; first monthly patch cycle exits with cleaner change records and fewer escalations.
