Job Description
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for an observability service that identifies incidents affecting databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
This team is targeting candidates in the U.S. who can work ONSITE in Nashville-TN. Relocation Assistance provided.
(This is not a remote position)
Responsibilities
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

- Providing leadership, direction, and strategy for a growing team.
- Planning, Establishing, and developing the organizational capacity needed to execute on strategy.

- Influencing and working with our partners to guide them towards a collective improved observability system.
- Providing guidance and constructive feedback to team members and peers.
- Raising the bar for OCI observability on the service health of the organization, from hardware all the way to customer integration.

- 5+ years of people-management experience leading software development teams.
- Hands-on experience building scalable, cloud native distributed systems.
- Strong, demonstrable track record for hiring and retaining top-tier talent.
- Strong track record of fostering healthy teams that can debate technical problems without causing interpersonal problems
- Strong track record of delivering excellent products and services on time.
- Relentless focus on customer satisfaction, observability, and metrics.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate a vision and get people invested in success.
- Ability to create processes or facilitate improving service quality and fostering good team habits.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: monitoring and analysis technologies (Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, New Relic), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) products from Oracle/AWS/Azure/Google Cloud.
- Comfort with complex, rapidly evolving software development environments.
- Ability to drive, follow, and evangelize cross-team processes.
