Job Details

Title: Linux Administrator (Automation Focus)
Location: Las Vegas, NV Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
Type: Full-Time Permanent


This role focuses on administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments while driving automation through Ansible. You will oversee server operations, handle system builds, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system health and stability. The position also involves supporting virtualization platforms, contributing to automation and strategic improvements, and mentoring junior administrators. The environment includes both on-premise and virtualized infrastructure, requiring a balance of operational execution and forward-looking planning.


Your role:


  • Provide Tier I and Tier II troubleshooting including problem recognition, root cause analysis, research, isolation, resolution, follow-up, and documentation.
  • Analyze, design, and configure networking, hardware, and software systems to support business needs.
  • Maintain network devices, system hardware, and software including restoration of configurations and updates.
  • Proactively mitigate potential risks to system security across hardware, software, and network connections.
  • Lead the integration and design of communication architectures, topologies, hardware, and software.
  • Develop and implement test strategies, procedures, and controls to prevent recurring issues.
  • Oversee implementations and rollouts of new networking, hardware, software, and system tools.
  • Coordinate installations and upgrades with user departments to minimize disruption.
  • Assist with training and supervision of Systems Engineers to support team development.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, standards, and procedures for system stability and security.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software solutions that align with organizational needs.
  • Prepare detailed functional specifications and coordinate requests for proposals (RFPs).


What you ve got:


  • 5 or more years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Linux Administrator.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including building, administering, and troubleshooting servers.
  • Hands-on Ansible automation experience for deployments, patches, and configurations.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware (preferred), Nutanix, Hyper-V, or vCenter.
  • RHEL certification preferred; Nutanix certification and ITIL V3 Awareness training a plus.
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate technical knowledge and problem-solving approaches.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a balance of confidence and adaptability.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments; gaming industry experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certifications and licenses.
