Job Title: Ping Engineer (Ping Authorization)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Location: Remote
Background: This client is a small-medium sized business that provides tailored insurance and risk management solutions.
Role Overview
The Ping Authorization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting authorization solutions using PingAuthorize, PingAccess, and related Ping products. Your mission is to define and enforce which users can access specific applications and perform specific actions-enabling fine-grained, policy-driven access control across diverse digital resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure attribute-based access control (ABAC) and role-based access control (RBAC) policies using PingAuthorize and PingAccess.
- Apply authorization rules at API, application, and resource levels. Integrate with SAML, OAuth2/OIDC flows managed by PingFederate.
- Implement, test, and support Ping identity infrastructure (e.g., PingFederate, PingAccess, PingID)
- Configure SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect to enable secure single signon (SSO) and access control
- Integrate applications (both non-production and production) with Ping Identity services
- Produce documentation including configuration guides, technical plans, and standards
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and operational tuning of identity services
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with PingAuthorize, PingAccess, and PingFederate in production environments.
- Proven ability to create SP/IdP connections using SAML 2.0 and OAuth/OIDC frameworks
- Strong understanding of SAML, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC, ABAC, and entitlement models.
- Solid scripting or coding ability (Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar) to automate tasks or customize integrations
- Strong client-facing skills, capable of translating business problems into technical solutions
