Job Details
Job Title: Quality Automation Engineer
Location: Hybrid: Onsite 3 days/week Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or Lake Mary, FL
Duration: 12-month contract (extension or conversion to FTE possible)
Overview:
- We re seeking a hands-on Quality Automation Engineer with deep expertise in front-end and back-end automation to join a highly collaborative QA/UAT team. The ideal candidate is fluent in automation frameworks and coding, experienced with CI/CD pipelines, and passionate about scalable testing practices. This role offers high-impact visibility within a financial organization modernizing its test architecture including mainframe automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Development
- Design and maintain robust automated tests for Angular apps (using JavaScript, TypeScript, Jasmine, Selenium, Playwright)
- Implement API and performance testing using tools like JMeter and Cucumber
- Build back-end automation using Java, Python, or C with a focus on Spring Boot and RESTful services
CI/CD Integration & Test Strategy
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (AWS Code Services)
- Apply TDD/BDD methodologies for scalable and maintainable test solutions
- Advocate for test coverage and automation within Agile ceremonies
Code Quality & Security
- Use Veracode and SonarQube to enforce security and maintain code quality
- Maintain end-to-end test suites for Angular 16 using Serenity and Playwright
Data & Platform Validation
- Validate application logic with Oracle databases
- Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple technology layers
- Support mainframe transition to automation using LeanFT
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 7 years of hands-on experience in QA automation (front-end & back-end)
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C
- Proficiency with Selenium, Jasmine, JMeter, and Cucumber
- Knowledge of TDD and BDD practices
- Hands-on experience with RESTful API testing
- Strong collaboration and excellent communication skills
- Experience in Agile environments
Preferred Skills & Tools:
- LeanFT (particularly for mainframe automation)
- Experience with Mortgage-backed securities (MBS) or financial domains
- Familiarity with AWS Code Services and Spring Boot
- Strong knowledge of Serenity, Playwright, Veracode, and SonarQube
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (required)
- Master s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus
