Description

Join a winning team! SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with NRO experience to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer.



This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.

The systems engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs with responsibilities that may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Lead program through the Systems Engineering process
  • Communicate across organizational boundaries
  • Participate in the development, management, and assessment of program acquisition/engineering documentation
  • Review system level requirements and concepts of operation
  • Assess impacts of changes to functional/system/enterprise requirements on the architecture, interfaces, and verification/validation plans
  • Oversee system verification and validation process
  • Develop products in support of system level requirements and interface specifications for IC systems to leadership
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings between developers and the COTR

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in systems / aeronautical / mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 9 or more years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in systems / aeronautical / mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 7 years or more relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of optical system design, analysis, manufacture and test
  • Experience with IC systems engineering process
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
