Job Details

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Solutions Engineer - Cloud, CDN & Internet Security (Public Sector) for the Southeast region.
Available Southeast Locations: Atlanta, GA * Raleigh, NC * Charlotte, NC * Nashville, TN * Miami, FL

This is a work-from-home role, but you should reside in one of the listed regions. The role comes with 30-40% travel.

What You'll Do
As a Solutions Engineer, you'll serve as the technical lead throughout the entire sales cycle-providing pre-sales support, technical consultation, and long-term account leadership. You'll work closely with public sector prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success across a wide range of Internet, networking, and cloud-based technologies.

Your expertise in distributed systems, networking, and security will help you design best-fit solutions, deliver compelling demonstrations, onboard new customers (virtually or in person), and support long-term technology strategies.

This role requires a solid understanding of both on-premise security and networking implementations, as well as cloud architectures commonly used across U.S. Public Sector environments. You will act as a technical advocate for the customer and collaborate closely with internal teams across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discussions and solution design throughout the sales and customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with sales and account teams to identify customer needs, define technical requirements, and deliver proofs of concept.
  • Advise customers on technical best practices, implementation strategies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance on Internet infrastructure, networking, and security technologies.
  • Develop and present technical demonstrations and documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing knowledge-sharing and process improvement across the engineering team.
  • Some travel required (approximately 30-40%) for customer meetings, conferences, and team collaboration.

What We Look For
Our Solutions Engineers come from diverse professional backgrounds-consulting, engineering, software development, product management, and customer success. What they share is curiosity, empathy, and a passion for technology.

You should be someone who can explain complex technical topics in a clear, accessible way. You're hands-on, enjoy solving problems, and value collaboration across different disciplines and perspectives.
Requirements
  • Core technical knowledge: OSI Model (Layers 1-7), TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP/HTTPS (WAF, CDN, forward proxy), TLS/SSL, Internet security (DDoS, firewalls, VPN, DLP), BGP, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, GTM, ZTNA/SASE, identity/authentication, and cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
  • Experience with on-premise infrastructure and networking configurations (including legacy systems).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing technical, consulting, or sales engineering role (not necessarily in tech). Must include client presentations including demos & ideally POCs.
  • Public sector experience is a big plus.
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity and continuous learning mindset.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities.
Desired Skills
  • Understanding of firewalls (L3/L4/L7), ACLs, and network security principles.
  • Comfort with command-line interfaces, RESTful APIs, and browser developer tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (not required).
  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts and an interest in applying AI to customer solutions.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) are a plus.
About You
  • You can translate complex technical concepts for audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
  • You're a lifelong learner who enjoys exploring new technologies and sharing knowledge with others.
  • You're creative and resourceful when solving customer challenges.
  • You're organized, dependable, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
***Please note the final interview will include a presentation.
Compensation depends on experience and is Total On-Target Compensation (OTE): $100-150K base plus variable incentive pay & participation in the company's equity plan.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, commuter accounts, mental health support, global travel insurance, 401(k), life/disability insurance, and flexible PTO programs.
