The Repeatable Offerings Service Center (ROSC) Infrastructure Operations Team at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Windows Server Engineer to support our Blacksburg Virginia Enterprise IT Operations Center. This is a great opportunity to work with an elite team of server and systems professionals to maintain a secure environment for critical systems. Pay Range:
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

Primary Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Systems Administration:
- Design, implement, and proficiently administer Windows Server versions (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022), Microsoft Azure, AWS, M365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, PKI, GPO, and file/print services.
- Automation - PowerShell Scripting:
- Demonstrate advanced-level proficiency in reading and writing PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and enhance system efficiency.
- Compliance and Security Collaboration:
- Collaborate with security teams to establish and uphold compliance standards, utilizing frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGS, ensuring a robust security posture.
- Support systems accreditation efforts for business and mission essential systems.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Federal Government security frameworks (i.e., STIGs, CIS, NIST)
- Technology Integration and Recommendations:
- Assess, install, and recommend innovative technologies encompassing databases, systems management, server virtualization, network storage, and security measures.
- Advise customers on innovations to control costs, incorporate best practices, integrate cloud native services/solutions.
- Client/Server Architecture Mastery:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Client/Server Architecture and deploy solutions securely within internal and external environments.
- Documentation and Process Management:
- Create and maintain in-house and customer documentation for standardized processes, encompassing disaster recovery procedures and common issue resolution methods.
- Multi-Location Operations:
- Collaborate within a hybrid, multi-location operations team to administer and support existing production environments.
- Patch and Security Management:
- Execute patching and security configuration activities, ensuring servers and databases remain secure and up to date.
- Proactive Monitoring:
- Using provided tools, continuously monitor system health, performance, and operational trends, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent incidents.
- Effective Communication:
- Exhibit strong communication skills, interacting with Executives, Managers, Peers, and Customers to convey technical information effectively.
- Incident Management:
- Handle support tickets, manage incidents, service requests, and problems throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Incident Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct thorough incident analysis to identify root causes and recommend potential solutions. Document status updates and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor and Coach:
- As a senior member of the team, provide technical leadership to mentor and coach junior members, providing growth opportunities and the application of advanced skills and experience to challenges.
- Shares knowledge and experience with members of the team to solve issues and works with coordinated members of cross-functional groups to apply knowledge and technical experience to resolve internal and customer IT requirements.
- Project Management:
- Responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas both internal and customer facing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree and 8 years experience or an Associate degree and 10 years experience, additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Familiar with ticketing systems and the value of good documentation.
- Competent in essential administration concepts around Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022.
- Experienced in DNS, DHCP, PKI, and GPO.
- In-depth knowledge of scripting with PowerShell.
- A who can obtain a Federal Civil Agency public trust clearance or DoD Secret clearance, as dictated by the customer.
- Obtain a baseline 8570 certification [(IAT Level II) CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP] within 3 months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified in Microsoft technologies.
- DoD secret clearance.
- Security+ CE certification.
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience.
- AWS and/or Azure certifications.
