JOB TITLE: Energy Centers Tech Specialist, Senior Job ID: 25-08630 Location: Oakland, CA Duration: 12 months on W2 contract
Summary:

Seeking an experienced HVAC Technical Specialist to develop and deliver training resources on HVAC topics, including design, controls, commissioning, and operation. This role collaborates with industry stakeholders to support California's energy efficiency goals and provides HVAC expertise across various programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction, or architecture (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC design, engineering, construction, or operation.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
  • Valid California driver s license or ability to obtain before the start date.


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC technologies, electrification, and California s Title 24 Energy Standards.
  • Experience in commercial HVAC design, engineering, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to train others and develop technical curricula.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver HVAC education and manage third-party instructors.
  • Oversee consultant contracts, budget planning, and forecasting.
  • Serve as a liaison with HVAC industry and research organizations.



Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $75.00 - $80.00 per hour.
