Position: Cloud Architect with AI/ML
Location: McLean, VA (locals Preffered)
Contract Type: C2C / W2 / 1099

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design and optimize cloud-based data and AI/ML architectures on Azure. This role combines hands-on data engineering with strategic architecture to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance analytics and machine learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end cloud data and AI/ML architectures aligned with business objectives

  • Architect AI/ML pipelines including ingestion, training, deployment, and monitoring

  • Select, design, and implement Azure cloud services and data platforms

  • Build scalable solutions for both batch and real-time data workloads

  • Implement MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for ML models

  • Ensure security, governance, and regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams

  • Monitor system performance, optimize costs, and document architectures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience (Spark, Databricks, MapReduce)

  • Strong experience designing Azure-based cloud data solutions

  • Solid understanding of data modeling and databases (SQL and NoSQL)

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Strong documentation and architectural diagramming skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake

  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)

  • Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks

  • Experience with Kubernetes and MLOps tools
