Material Planner

Overview

This position is responsible for ensuring a consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production based on demand.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan the required materials and purchase quantities to fulfill demand of service line. Submit workorders. Utilize SAP, Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
• Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
• Coordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc.
• Track the shipping status and ensure the shipment will arrive on time.
• Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products.
• Liaise with purchasing department, broker, carrier, etc. for the schedule, ETD, ETA of shipments.
• Manage materials issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
• Prepare reports accurately on a weekly basis.
• Act as warehouse coordinator to plan, schedule, coordinate and expedite material issue to the production floor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skill/Knowledge Requirements:

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
• Must have hands-on experience in SAP.
• Must have great interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proven ability to function independently and be able to multi-task.

Education and Experience

• Associates degree required, bachelor s degree preferred.
• Must have at least two (2) to three (3) years of material planning experience, in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to speak Mandarin / Chinese is highly preferred.
