Job Description
As the Principal Systems Architect, you will lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-impact
consumer fintech platforms that power digital banking experiences, co-branded credit cards, embedded
finance, and personalized financial tools. This role is central to the company's broader fintech strategy,
connecting millions of customers to smarter, flawless ways to manage and access money across
mobile, web, and in-store channels.
You ll define the architectural vision for banking-as-a-service (BaaS), card issuance and processing, digital
identity and onboarding, customer insights, and secure integrations with partners and fintech providers.
You ll work across engineering, product, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity to bring aggressive
financial products to life aligned with regulatory standards and passionate about outstanding user
experience. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you ll influence the future of how consumers
experience finance with the company.

Job Responsibilities:
Architect consumer-facing financial solutions including digital bank accounts, savings and checking tools,
co-branded credit card products, and embedded finance capabilities.
Define and maintain architectural standards for integration with BaaS providers, card issuers/processors,
KYC/AML vendors, and payment networks (Visa, Mastercard).
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to build intuitive and secure financial
experiences for mobile-first consumers.
Lead technology evaluations for third-party fintech partners covering card issuance, core banking
platforms, data aggregation, and personal finance management.
Ensure secure architecture and data design for customer onboarding, credit decisioning, account
servicing, and financial transactions.
Champion privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance (including PCI, GLBA, CFPB, and Reg E)
across consumer facing FinTech platforms.
Implement scalable API architectures for money movement (ACH, debit rails, instant payout), card
management, account funding, and transaction data enrichment.
Provide architectural oversight for loyalty integrations, rewards platforms, and customer engagement
engines tied to credit and banking products.
Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to test emerging fintech capabilities such as credit scoring models,
instant issuing, and account verification innovations.
Maintain system documentation, architecture blueprints, and technical standards to guide development
and cross-team partnerships.
Act as a strategic advisor on Fin Tech trends and platform roadmaps ensuring the company delivers
differentiated and forward-looking financial products that improve customer experience.
Knowledge, Skill, Experience
7-10 years of experience:
In financial services, FinTech, or digital banking environments with customer-facing product
delivery. (Required)
In enterprise systems architecture, software engineering, or infrastructure design at scale.
(Required)
5+ years of experience:
Crafting or integrating consumer banking platforms, credit card issuance systems, or BaaS
platforms (e.g., Galileo, Marqeta, Synapse, Bond, Unit). (Preferred)
Working with KYC/AML vendors, fraud prevention tools, or financial data aggregators (e.g., Alloy,
Persona, Plaid, Trustly, MX). (Preferred)
4-7 years of experience:
In mobile and web application architecture for financial products, including account opening,
card activation, and account servicing. (Required)
Crafting compliant FinTech systems within the framework of PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other
regulatory obligations. (Preferred)
With cloud-native development (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), containerization (Docker and Kubernetes),
and API-first ecosystems. (Preferred)
Education:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or
business/fintech certifications are a plus.
Licenses and Certifications:
Certifications such as AWS Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, or fintech/banking-specific credentials (e.g., FCP,
CRCM) are desirable.
