Job Description:

MRI-Simmons is seeking a lead Java engineer with hands-on Java/J2EE development experience and proven abilities to support software activities in an Agile software development lifecycle. We are seeking a well-rounded developer to lead a cloud application using variety of technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills. In addition, the candidate will lead developers on the team to achieve architecture and design objectives as agreed with stakeholders.

As Lead Java Engineer, you will have following key accountabilities:

  • Lead developers on the team to meet product deliverables.
  • Coach junior developers on the team to develop scalable implementation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on a multi-disciplined project team in an Agile development environment.
  • Contribute to detailed design and architectural discussions as well as customer requirements sessions to support the implementation of J2EE applications.
  • Design and develop clear and maintainable code.
  • Lead developers on the team to meet product deliverables.
  • Ability to identify and solve for code/design optimization.
  • Learn and integrate with a variety of systems, APIs and platforms.
  • Interact with a multi-disciplined team to clarify analyze, assess requirements-
  • Be actively involved in the design, development and testing activities for web applications.
  • Help recommend strategic architectural and technical directions to our clients.

Now that we have introduced you to the position as Lead Java Engineer, what skills, qualifications and experience should you, have?

  • Hands-on experience developing Java web applications or supporting backend APIs using a variety of frameworks.
  • Proven technical leadership on prior development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with the Spring Tool Suite to include Spring Boot, Spring Boot Oath, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Batch.
  • Hands-on experience building applications using tools Angular or React.
  • Hands-on experience using automated build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
  • Hands-on experience using Relational Databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres or similar.
  • Fluency in Java/J2EE, JSP, Web Services. Must have experience with JAVA 8 or higher.
  • Experience using software project tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well in a team.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Experience developing scripts using VBScript or PowerShell.
  • SAML and Single Sign On (SSO) implementations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with DEVOPS CI/CD tools and automation processes (e.g., Azure DevOPS, BitBucket).

Salary commensurate with experience, annual base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000
