Immediate need for a talented Embedded Software Developer. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Irving, TX(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain software (in C/C ) for POS terminals and peripheral devices (printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, customer displays).
  • Integrate POS devices using JPOS/OPOS frameworks (service objects, control objects, device drivers).
  • Implement device-management features: configuration, diagnostics, firmware upgrades, logging, remote monitoring of POS hardware.
  • Work with embedded/firmware engineers, QA, support teams to ensure device reliability, compatibility and field readiness.
  • Troubleshoot hardware-software interactions in POS terminal setups.
  • Participate in architecture/design, code reviews, unit/integration testing.
  • Provide documentation and maintain quality standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key Skills; C , Embedded, POS, Payment .
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science / Electrical or equivalent and 4-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C and C , preferably in embedded or device/driver development.
  • Experience working with POS systems/terminals and peripheral devices (receipt printers, card readers, cash drawers, displays).
  • Specific experience with POS device frameworks/standards such as JPOS and/or OPOS.
  • Embedded systems/devices experience (firmware, drivers, PCI/EMV a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in a team, good communication.
  • Knowledge of Windows COM/ActiveX (OPOS) or Java frameworks (JPOS).
  • Device provisioning/firmware upgrade mechanisms, remote device management.
  • Payment industry standards (EMV, ISO 8583) and security (PCI-DSS) a plus.
