Job Description:

We are seeking a Datacenter Lab Support Engineer 2 to join our team in Franklin, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining the infrastructure in our datacenter lab environment. You will collaborate with engineering partners to configure servers, troubleshoot issues, and help with the deployment of new equipment. You will work with cutting-edge servers and switches while learning the latest technologies. As part of a collaborative team, you will ensure the lab environment operates smoothly, enabling engineers to work effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide client/server and networking support for configuring and maintaining engineering solutions in the lab environment.

  • Oversee the deployment of servers, networking switches, storage arrays, and software.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise within the datacenter environment.

  • Assist with the automation and maintenance of the datacenter environment as needed.

  • Ensure that documented procedures are followed for hardware replacements and other tasks.

  • Maintain clear documentation of efforts in the ticketing system, via email, and through in-person communication.

  • Support engineering teams by ensuring a reliable and efficient datacenter environment.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a datacenter or related technical field.

  • Experience working in a datacenter environment as both an individual contributor and team member.

  • Proficient in working with Dell PowerEdge Servers and Computers.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to take ownership of tasks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and document efforts clearly.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of networking skills, including switch configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with VMware environments and related technologies.
