Job Description
We are looking for a Database Analyst to support the Department's Office of Information Technology (OIT) in maintaining and developing the Incident Reporting System. This position will be full-time and onsite.
What You'll Do
- Design, model, develop, and support Database Management Systems (DBMS)
- Analyze data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s)
- Design, develop, amend, optimize, and certify database schema design to meet system requirements
- Gather, analyze, and normalize information related to business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning
- Develop database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments
- Develop an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible and secure environment
- Provide evidence of performance by submitting required documentation, including status reports, time reports, technical documentation, and any additional documentation required by the Department's Contract Manager
- Submit status reports weekly, time reports monthly, and ensure technical documentation facilitates knowledge transfer to Department staff
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three years of IT work experience in DBA, DBMS design and support, and relevant computing environments
- Experience designing, modeling, developing, and supporting data analysis tools for data visualization and reporting, including ArcGIS Online, Tableau, or similar tools
- Experience designing, modeling, developing, and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS)
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and data patches
- Experience analyzing data requirements and designing, developing, amending, optimizing, and certifying database schema design
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and normalizing information related to business processes to evaluate data credibility
- Experience developing database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments
- Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
