Job Details

Job Title: Maximo Database Administrator

Location: Remote (with potential on-site work at MD, DC, VA)

Core Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Oracle (12c, 18c) and SQL databases supporting Maximo and asset management systems.
Monitor, optimize, and ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of Maximo databases on-premises and in cloud (Azure, OCI).
Perform database health checks, backups, restorations, and disaster recovery planning.
Manage database configuration, security, and compliance with IT/cybersecurity standards.
Execute patch management, upgrades, and ensure compatibility with Maximo application upgrades.
Tune database queries, indexes, and schema for optimal performance; optimize Maximo reporting tools and integrations.
Maintain data integrity through validation, consistency checks, and archiving strategies.
Support data migration, conversion, and integration during Maximo upgrades or with connected systems (PeopleSoft/ERP, Windchill, FleetWatch, PPG, Optram, Microsoft Power Platform).
Administer Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including database connections and data exchange integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in Maximo and integrated systems.
Implement and enforce robust database security policies, access controls, encryption, and regular security audits.
Migrate Maximo databases to cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
Automate administrative tasks using scripting (PL/SQL, Python, PowerShell) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
Set up and maintain database monitoring and reporting tools.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Relevant certifications preferred: IBM Certified Deployment Professional Maximo Asset Management, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 18+, Azure Database Administrator Associate.
5 7 years hands-on experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management, Oracle, and SQL databases in both cloud and on-premises environments ideally in transit or large enterprises.
Expertise in Maximo 7.6+ (Transportation add-on preferred), Asset Configuration Manager, Mobile Experience.
Deep knowledge of Maximo table structures, metadata, and development of migration scripts for upgrades.
Proven ability to automate Maximo administrative tasks and troubleshoot complex database issues.
Experience with Oracle high-availability features (Data Guard, RAC, GoldenGate), cloud database services (Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Oracle Autonomous), and multi-region deployments.
Proficiency in Linux administration, PL/SQL, and scripting for automation.
Experience integrating Maximo with enterprise transit systems (GOTRS, RPM, PeopleSoft/ERP, Optram, InspectTech, Remstar/PPG, FleetWatch).
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, TRM Rules Manager, and cloud database migration tools (Azure Database Migration Service, Oracle GoldenGate).
Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Azure SQL Insights, Oracle Enterprise Manager).
