Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Application Developer for a Contract with a client in Urbana, MD. Candidates must have deep expertise in Delphi development to effectively design, test, and deploy multi-tiered desktop applications.
Rate Range: $44/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Desktop Application Developer job responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy multi-tiered desktop applications using Delphi within an agile development environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Functional Analysts, QA, and other developers to ensure software solutions meet customer needs.
- Resolve defects and performance issues, including memory leaks and scalability challenges, to maintain application stability.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications, particularly pension and retirement systems, by adding new functionality and improving legacy code.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, and build planning to align development efforts.
- Utilize tools like Jira for issue tracking, status updates, and workflow management throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of strong experience in Delphi software development.
- Proven ability to resolve performance, memory leak, and scalability issues in desktop applications.
- Expertise in Delphi development, including converting legacy Delphi 7 code to 64-bit Delphi XE8.
