About the Role
We re seeking a skilled Senior IT Systems Administrator with deep expertise in Windows and VMware environments. This role blends operational excellence with project leadership managing complex infrastructure projects while ensuring stability, performance, and security across our IT systems.
What You ll Do
Windows Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments (2019 2025)
- Manage patching, security hardening, and compliance initiatives
- Automate tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools
- Monitor and optimize system performance
VMware Infrastructure
- Administer VMware vSphere v8+ environments (vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, VxRail)
- Handle VM lifecycle management, capacity planning, and optimization
- Implement HA, disaster recovery, and backup solutions
- Execute cluster upgrades and maintenance with minimal downtime
Project & Team Leadership
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning to execution
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines
- Mentor junior admins and provide technical guidance
- Assign and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth operations
Operational Excellence
- Maintain 24/7 system availability with proactive monitoring
- Develop SOPs and documentation
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
What We re Looking For
- 5+ years of Windows Server administration experience
- 5+ years VMware vSphere experience
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
- Proven project leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE) and/or VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP)
- Experience in regulated industries with compliance requirements
