Job Description:

Parsons welcomes an exceptional AI/ML Software Developer to join our on-going Science and Technology (S&T) efforts at the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. We are searching for the ideal candidate with a background in training and evaluating machine learning models in various frameworks (Pytorch, ONNX, Tensorflow, TensorRT), specifically in the research areas of model optimizations, including, model fine-tuning, as well as performance and resource utilization.

As part of the Parsons team supporting resource constrained and adaptive model development, you will have access to state-of-the-art engineering and modeling tools and strong subject matter expertise in the areas of AI/ML development pipelines and optimizations, M&S, and software/hardware development for current and future Army systems. You will use your experience and knowledge to develop ML models to improve object recognition, optimize models for resource constrained environments, and carry out exercises on real devices in test environments.

You will have an opportunity to influence the development of next generation AI/ML techniques that will include being part of a high-performing team that will research, design, develop, and integrate technologies for various types of devices, including autonomous systems.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Require at least a B.S. degree (but prefer M.S.) in math, engineering, or computer science and experience in relevant areas (internships or work experience)
  • Ability to train and evaluate Machine Learning models in various frameworks (Pytorch, ONNX, Tensorflow, TensorRT)
  • Experience optimizing machine learning models for performance and resource utilization
    • Pruning, quantization, fine-tuning
  • Knowledge working with Large Language Models, training and model tuning
  • Python development experience with focus on object-oriented programming practices
  • Comfortability with scripting and programming, such as bash and python, as well as knowledge of developmental environment libraries, such as pip
  • Experience with Linux development environments, as well as maintaining code base documentation and git repositories.
  • The position requires the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance and onsite work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Experience with developing applications for heterogeneous hardware (x86, ARM, Nvidia and AMD GPUs)
  • Knowledge of robotics and/or autonomous vehicles
  • Robot Operating System (ROS) experience or knowledge
  • Team development experience is a plus

Salary Range: $72,900.00 - $127,600.00
