Job Details

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Lab technician to oversee the management and maintenance of our cutting-edge technology lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware and software, particularly in the realm of Google Pixel devices (phones, watches, and buds), Linux servers, and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Management:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of Google Pixel devices, including phones, watches, and buds.
    • Configure and optimize devices for various testing and development scenarios.
    • Ensure devices are up-to-date with the latest firmware and software.
    • Manage device inventory, including tracking assets, performing regular audits, and coordinating repairs or replacements.
  • Server Administration:
    • Manage and maintain Linux servers used for testing, development, and internal services.
    • Perform server installations, configurations, and updates.
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the inventory of lab equipment, including hardware, software licenses, and consumables.
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory items and their locations.
    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
    • Implement efficient inventory management processes and tools.
  • Lab Operations:
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to lab users.
    • Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth lab operations.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills, including experience with:
    • Google Pixel devices (phones, watches, buds)
    • Linux servers
    • Inventory management systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Knowledge of network administration and security
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform)
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Linux, ITIL)
