Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Scrum Master with 9-11 years of experience in leading Agile teams, particularly in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of direct experience in insurance and a strong track record of facilitating Agile processes for high-performance teams. The Scrum Master will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Leadership & Facilitation:
- Lead Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement.
- Act as a servant leader for the team, removing impediments and helping the team to stay focused and productive.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the Product Owner, stakeholders, and the team to ensure a clear understanding of project priorities and goals.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and expectations are managed.
- Insurance Industry Expertise:
- Leverage your insurance industry experience to guide the team on domain-specific challenges and nuances.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams in the insurance domain to deliver successful projects and meet business needs.
- Agile Coaching:
- Provide coaching to teams on Agile practices, helping them to understand and implement Scrum processes effectively.
- Mentor team members and promote continuous improvement.
- Tracking & Reporting:
- Track team progress using Agile metrics such as burndown charts, velocity, and cumulative flow diagrams.
- Report on team health and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team by identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate changes.
- Help drive improvements in team processes, quality, and delivery speed.
- Team Development:
- Help build a self-organizing team that is highly motivated, engaged, and empowered.
- Provide support to the team to resolve conflicts and improve collaboration.
Core Skills:
- Scrum Master Experience: 9-11 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Insurance Industry Experience: 4-5 years of experience working in the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of insurance processes and regulations.
- Agile Methodologies: Deep knowledge and experience in Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
- Facilitation & Coaching: Strong facilitation skills for Agile ceremonies and the ability to coach teams on Agile best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and remove roadblocks, promote team collaboration, and keep projects on track.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing and aligning expectations of both technical and business stakeholders.
- Tools: Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, VersionOne, or similar Agile project management tools.
