Job Details

Senior VMWare Orchestration Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a LONG TERM; resource must be within commutable distance to downtown Manhattan.

Schedule: Mon-Fri (9am - 5pm)

Hybrid role in NYC with NYPD

Duration of the project: 3-5 years (renewed after 1 year).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware Engineer with deep expertise in VMware Aria Suite , specifically in vRealize Operations (vROps), vRealize Automation (vRA), and VMware Aria tools. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing VMware-based private cloud and hybrid cloud environments. This is a hands-on role requiring advanced technical skills and strong experience in automation, monitoring, and optimization of virtual infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage vROps, vRA, and other components of the VMware Aria Suite.
  • Automate provisioning, lifecycle management, and configuration of virtual machines and infrastructure resources using vRA and vRO.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize virtual environments using vROps to ensure high performance and availability.
  • Integrate VMware Aria Suite with external systems and cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and alerts in vROps for infrastructure health and capacity planning.
  • Support and enhance self-service capabilities and service catalogs via vRA.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to virtualization, automation, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including networking, storage, security, and DevOps to deliver efficient infrastructure solutions.
  • Stay current on VMware product updates and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Proven experience with vROps , vRA , and VMware Aria Suite (formerly vRealize Suite).
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and core virtualization concepts.
  • Proficiency in PowerCLI , vRO scripting , or Python for automation and orchestration.
  • Experience integrating vRA with CM tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) and public cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, IaaS/Paas models, and hybrid cloud strategies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or VMware Aria-specific certs) preferred.
